Who are we?

TheBusinessDive helps professionals & businesses choose the right software.

We independently review and compare productivity, AI, and business tools based on hands-on testing, real use cases, and transparent evaluation criteria.

How we review software

Every tool featured on TheBusinessDive goes through a structured review process:

  • Hands-on testing of core features
  • We don’t rely solely on our experience in the reviews, but also include other users’ perspectives from Reddit and YouTube if justified to provide a full picture of the app.
  • Evaluation of pricing, limitations, and target users
  • Comparison against competitors
  • Normally, we test and review +10 other apps in the same niche to ensure we have enough experience to share our insights
  • Ongoing updates as products change

Why we created TheBusinessDive

We created TheBusinessDive to provide independent context in a market where most software brands naturally promote themselves as “the best.”

So, it can feel like the louder a brand is, the higher the chance of being perceived as the best — regardless of whether it’s the right fit.

Our goal is to help people understand:

  • What each app is genuinely good at
  • Where it falls short
  • Who it’s best for — and who it isn’t

Instead of repeating marketing claims, we test and compare tools side by side, looking at real-world workflows, pricing trade-offs, and practical limitations. Most of the tools we write about, we implement into our business during the testing period to see how they actually contribute to productivity and efficiency. This way, readers can make decisions based on context — not hype.

TheBusinessDive exists to make software choices clearer, more transparent, and easier to trust — especially in categories where every tool sounds “best” on its own website.

Editorial independence & monetization transparency

A common and fair question is how TheBusinessDive makes money.

Our main source of income is affiliate commission. While not all the articles include affiliate links, some of them do. This is why we highlight our affiliate disclosure in numerous spots in an article.

In practical terms, if you find our content helpful and choose to sign up for a tool through one of our links, you support our work at no additional cost to you. We may earn a commission from the software provider, which helps us continue researching, testing, and publishing independent reviews.

There are also cases when you actually get a discount or a longer trial period if using our links, but we highlight these in the content.

Most importantly, affiliate relationships never influence our evaluations or recommendations. Our opinions are based on hands-on testing, comparison, and real-world use — not on who pays us.

What have we done so far?

So far, we tested 200+ apps and wrote +100 review articles across categories like:

Based on our internal estimates, we’ve spent thousands of hours testing tools and writing reviews — and this number continues to grow.

All of our content is updated regularly to reflect new features, pricing changes, and product updates.

Jovana Simić

content writer & tester

Hey! I’m Jovana, a content writer at TheBusinessDive, where I spend most of my time testing productivity and SaaS tools so you don’t have to.

I take a hands-on approach to every review and have personally tested 50+ productivity apps, from task managers and AI planners to time-tracking and collaboration tools. I pay attention to how these tools really work in daily life, what’s useful, what’s confusing, and whether they’re actually worth your time and money.

With a background in philosophy, I bring a critical, no-bullshit approach to software reviews, focusing on clarity, honesty, and practical value. My goal is to help you understand how tools actually work in real life and choose what truly fits your needs.
