If you have a paid plan and have used Google Meet lately, you may have noticed that there is a pop-up saying Google can now take meeting notes for you using Gemini.
Google Gemini Take Notes for Me is Google’s built-in AI note-taker for Google Meet calls. However, before jumping into the details, you have to know this:
The Take Notes for Me feature requires a Google Workspace subscription; it only works in English and supports only Google Meet calls.

Transcription and recording: To use Gemini’s Take Notes for Me tool, select your Google Meet call, and at the top right of your screen, click Take notes with Gemini. There, you can select whether you want to transcribe or record your meeting, or both, and that’s it.
Meeting summary: After your Google Meet call is over, Gemini adds your meeting notes as a new Google Doc in your Drive and shares them with people on the calendar invite who are within your organization. Honestly, it’s nothing extra, and it looks a bit like a TXT file. It includes the breakdown of the meeting, some information about the attendees, and the transcription. Also, important timestamps in meeting notes link back to specific sections of the transcript for easier navigation.
Accessibility: To access the meeting notes, just click on the Google Meet event, and it will be automatically attached to the meeting. Alternatively, you can find it in your Drive as a Google Doc.
My experience with Google Gemini Take Notes for Me
Honestly, I have mixed feelings regarding Google’s AI meeting assistant, and I have some issues. Don’t get me wrong, I think Gemini’s Take Notes for Me feature is useful overall, but it has plenty of room for development.
For me, it is just too simple and offers no advanced features at all. That said, you can get your notes, transcription, and that’s it.
In addition to its limited feature set, it only works in English on PC, and I have no information on whether they want to extend the support to other languages.
