Where It Saved Me Time

Plaud prepares AI meeting notes with key points and next arrangements. Depending on the recording length, it usually took 5–10 minutes to upload, transcribe, and generate the AI summary.

The structured notes provide you with a quick overview of what you discussed, and Plaud picked up the relevant points from my meetings and phone calls well.

I could add, remove, or rewrite points, and even generate different versions using built-in templates such as meeting minutes, highlights, quantitative analysis, intent analysis, or concept insights. Nevertheless, there are many other templates you can use.

Since Plaud supports many languages, I also tested it in my native language, Hungarian. I was genuinely impressed by how accurately it transcribed conversations and generated summaries, despite Hungarian being a challenging language for most AI note-takers.

Furthermore, Plaud generates mind maps from your discussions, which is a useful feature for visual thinkers. However, the feature I used most is Ask Plaud.

Instead of searching through the transcript manually, I simply asked questions like:

• What deadlines were mentioned?
• What tasks do I need to complete this week?
• What decisions were made during the meeting?

The responses were generated in just a few seconds. What impressed me most was that Plaud didn’t always return long paragraphs. When possible, it organized the answers into tables with priorities, making them much faster to review and act on.

Where It Struggled

In terms of AI-generated summaries and transcription, Plaud did an excellent job. The main feature I missed is a conversational intelligence tool to analyze my calls.

As someone who enjoys analyzing my own meetings, I’d love to see insights such as:

• speaking vs. listening ratio,
• filler words,
• talk time,
• sentiment trends,
• coaching recommendations,
• objection analysis for sales calls.

These kinds of analytics would make Plaud even more valuable for sales professionals, managers, and anyone looking to continuously improve their communication skills.

Brainstorming While Driving

Where It Saved Me Time

Compared to most AI note-takers, which require you to take out your phone, open the app, and start recording, Plaud made capturing ideas much faster. I simply pressed the button on my NotePin and started talking, which felt both quicker and safer, especially while driving.

I often recorded longer monologues with short pauses in between, and Plaud did a great job organizing the transcription into logical blocks instead of one long wall of text.

While the AI notes covered most of what I talked about, the transcription outline helped me find some of the key ideas I had, so I could read them completely and ensure I could follow that line of thinking.

One example was when I came up with a new idea for Floviu while driving and wanted to share it with my developer. This is when I found its built-in voice editor that allows me to remove silence, trim, and delete parts of the voice recording.

Although I did not use this feature more than once, it can still be a valuable addition for these workflows, and no other AI note-takers offer this.

Finally, Plaud let me organize my recordings into different folders. So, I could create folders for different topics and save my brainstorming in the related folder.

Where It Struggled

Honestly, I didn’t run into any significant issues using Plaud to capture ideas while driving. Nonetheless, if you rarely record ideas or conversations throughout the day, you probably won’t benefit from carrying a dedicated device instead of using your phone.

Capturing Ideas on the Go

Where It Saved Me Time

One thing I quickly appreciated about Plaud was how effortless it was to capture ideas. I simply clipped the NotePin to my T-shirt, pressed the record button, and started talking. It just makes it easy and convenient to grasp an idea without unlocking my phone.

I used my NotePin numerous times while commuting, and even in noisy environments, Plaud captured what I said. The transcription accuracy was high, and I particularly valued that Plaud cleaned my transcript, so there were no filler words.

Its summarization features were a huge time-saver for me, since they quickly broke down the key action items from 15-20 minutes of brainstorming, during which at least 10 minutes were irrelevant.

Lastly, I loved that Plaud NotePin can record offline too.

Where It Struggled

The one thing I missed here is the option to quickly assign action points to my team members. For example, sometimes I come up with content ideas, and it would be useful for me to quickly pin my team to work on it.

Design, Battery Life & Everyday Use

As mentioned, I used Plaud NotePin. Its design is minimalist, premium, and subtle. Since I chose a color close to my T-shirts, it blended in nicely instead of drawing attention, which I personally preferred.

The Plaud app itself is really straightforward and has no learning curve at all. Within a few minutes, I knew where everything was.

Nonetheless, the setup process of the Plaud device took more time than I expected. I first had to fully charge the device, and during my first recording, I repeatedly tapped the record button without realizing it required a firmer press to start recording.

Honestly, it took 10-15 minutes to figure out, which was a bit frustrating, but after my first day of use, it became second nature. The device shows the recording status (a red light indicates recording), so you will always know when it’s on.

Based on my experience, the battery life of my Plaud NotePin was somewhere between 20 – 35 hours depending on how much time I recorded. Nonetheless, the device does not show the battery status.

A quick note on shipping. I ordered it from Hungary, Europe, and it took around 5-7 workdays to receive it. I know it can vary significantly depending on your location, but I had a good experience here.

Overall, Plaud has exceptional design, and after a few days, wearing the NotePin became as natural as putting on a watch.

What You Need to Know About Pricing

Before using Plaud, you must purchase the device and select a plan.

Let’s start with the devices!

Devices

The one I used (Plaud NotePin) is the lightweight version that includes a magnetic pin and clip, ideal for everyday wearable capturing. Above, I already described how effortless it was to wear and use it on a daily basis, so I had a great experience with NotePin.

Plaud also offers other device options for different use cases. The NotePin S is a refreshed version of the NotePin with a slightly different design. Since I haven’t tested it myself, I can’t comment on its real-world performance.

For users who frequently record phone calls, Plaud offers the Plaud Note, a card-sized recorder that lets you switch between phone call and in-person recording modes. The Plaud Note Pro is the company’s most advanced AI note taker and comes as a magnetic phone case with additional recording capabilities.

Subscription plans

The free Starter plan includes 300 transcription minutes per month, making it a good option if you only record occasionally.

The Pro plan is $8.33 per month with annual billing and includes 1,200 transcription minutes per month. Based on my experience, it should be enough for most users.

For heavy users, Plaud also offers an Unlimited plan for $19.99/month (annual billing), which removes the transcription limit. This is the plan I used during my testing.

Also, Plaud offers a Team plan for $20 per user per month with annual billing that includes centralized billing, user management, priority support, and more.

Cost vs. value

Compared to other AI transcription tools, Plaud’s subscription pricing is competitive. There are cheaper, but significantly more expensive AI note-takers.

The main consideration is that, unlike purely software-based alternatives, you’ll need to purchase the hardware as well.

While that increases the upfront cost, I found it more convenient to wear a dedicated recorder than to use my phone for call recording. This can be especially useful for professionals who have numerous in-person conversations and phone calls each day.

How Secure Is Plaud?

The short answer: Plaud is a secure AI note-taking platform that complies with major security and privacy standards, including ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27701:2019, GDPR, SOC 2 Type II, and HIPAA.

The main consideration isn’t the platform itself, but how you use it. When recording in-person meetings or phone calls, it’s your responsibility to inform participants and comply with applicable local laws and company policies.

Unlike many AI meeting assistants for online meetings, Plaud doesn’t automatically notify others that a recording is taking place.

Final thoughts

Plaud genuinely surprised me and exceeded my expectations. Before testing it, I relied on the mobile apps of AI note-takers to capture ideas and meetings, and I didn’t think I needed a dedicated recording device.

After using the NotePin for a few weeks, my perspective changed. The combination of its lightweight design, one-button recording, accurate transcription, and well-structured AI summaries made it much easier to capture conversations and ideas without interrupting the moment.

If you mainly attend virtual meetings, a traditional AI meeting assistant may already cover your needs. But if your day involves in-person meetings, phone calls, commuting, or capturing ideas on the go, Plaud offers a noticeably smoother experience than reaching for your phone every time.

Before going into the details, here are my main takeaways after testing CoSupport AI:

What is CoSupport AI?

CoSupport AI is an AI customer support platform that automates customer conversations using your own knowledge base instead of generic AI responses.

The platform includes two products: CoSupport AI Agent, which handles customer inquiries end to end, and CoSupport AI Assistant, which drafts reply suggestions for human agents inside the helpdesk. Both run on patented AI architecture (US Patent 11823031B1) and are used by 300+ brands.

Features

Instead of listing every feature available in the platform, I wanted to focus on the parts I actually used while setting up and testing my AI agent. Here’s what that process looked like.

Creating and training the AI agent

The first thing I had to do was create an AI agent and connect it to a knowledge source. Connecting the site only took a few minutes, and once the initial sync finished, the agent was ready to answer questions based on that data source.

Before I started testing, I spent some time exploring the configuration options. The Persona tab is where I could define how the agent should communicate, including its tone, response length, and whether it should generate replies for chat or email conversations.

I could also add custom behavioral instructions that shaped the AI’s overall behavior across every conversation instead of repeating them inside individual workflows.

Although I only connected a website for this review, CoSupport AI supports a much wider range of knowledge sources, including help center articles, historical support tickets, Notion, Confluence, Google Drive, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

Multiple knowledge sources can also be attached to the same AI agent, allowing documentation, FAQs, websites, and other resources to work together instead of being managed separately.

That flexibility makes it possible to combine documentation from multiple places into a single AI knowledge base rather than maintaining duplicate content across different systems.

As soon as the knowledge base was connected, I could jump straight into the Playground and start asking questions.

Playground for testing AI responses

Most of my time with CoSupport AI was spent in the Playground, which is where I tested the agent before making any changes live. Every time I updated a workflow or changed the agent’s behavior, I could immediately start a new conversation and see how those changes affected the responses.

I deliberately tried a wide range of prompts to see how well the agent handled different scenarios. I also tested how it handled missing information, whether it admitted when it didn’t know something, and how it behaved during escalation scenarios.

One thing I appreciated is how fast the feedback loop was. I could tweak a setting, save it, start a fresh chat, and immediately see whether the change had the intended effect. Starting a new conversation after each update also made it easy to isolate the impact of individual configuration changes.

Since all of this happens in a separate testing environment, I could experiment freely without worrying about affecting a production chatbot.

Another feature I found genuinely useful was Add FAQ. Whenever the AI generated an answer that I wanted to reuse, I could create a new FAQ directly from the conversation without leaving the Playground.

The customer’s question was automatically prefilled, while I could review or write the answer before saving it to the appropriate knowledge base. It’s a very practical way to grow the knowledge base from real conversations.

Custom workflows

After testing the default behavior, I moved on to custom workflows to see how much control I actually had over the AI’s responses. The editor is entirely text-based, so I simply described the behavior I wanted in natural language.

After enabling my workflow, the AI consistently followed the behavior I’d defined instead of relying on its default responses. That demonstrated how much control custom workflows give you over the conversation flow.

I also appreciated that CoSupport AI comes with several prebuilt workflows for common support scenarios, including escalation, bug reports, feature requests, and FAQs. They worked well as reference examples and made it easier to understand how custom workflows should be structured.

Another detail I found useful was the built-in versioning system. Rather than replacing the live configuration right away, my changes were saved as a draft that I could test in the Playground before deploying. It made experimenting with prompts and workflows feel much less risky.

Human handoff and escalation

Another area I wanted to explore was how CoSupport AI handles conversations that need human intervention.

The platform comes with prebuilt escalation workflows, but these aren’t fixed rules. You can customize when an escalation happens, what information the AI should collect first, and how the handoff should be handled.

I liked that the workflow gave me control over the conversation instead of simply transferring every difficult request. After a few adjustments, the AI consistently collected additional context before escalating, which could save support agents from asking the same questions all over again.

One thing I did notice, though, is that the AI doesn’t automatically offer a human handoff just because it can’t answer a question.

When I asked about a product that wasn’t in the knowledge base, it admitted it didn’t have the information but only escalated after I explicitly requested a human agent. I think proactively offering escalation in those situations would create a smoother support experience.

Decision Logs

One feature I wasn’t able to test firsthand is Decision Logs, which CoSupport AI introduced with version 2.0. According to the company, every AI-generated response can include a detailed log showing the reasoning process, actions taken, and knowledge sources used to generate the final answer.

While this functionality wasn’t available in my Playground environment, I like the idea of having that level of transparency, especially for QA teams that need to audit AI-generated responses or understand why the agent reached a particular conclusion.

Cost vs value

CoSupport AI offers a free pilot, no setup fees, and a money-back guarantee if it doesn’t achieve a 60% resolution rate within the first 60 days.

You can pay per resolved ticket (starting at $0.19), per AI response (starting at $0.04), or opt for a flat monthly plan starting at $99/month with unlimited AI responses.

From my perspective, the pricing is most attractive for companies that already handle a meaningful number of support requests. Smaller teams can start with the response-based model, while businesses with predictable ticket volumes will probably get more value from the flat-rate option.

The resolution-based model is also an interesting alternative because it means you’re only paying when the AI successfully resolves a ticket, which shows confidence in the platform’s ability to deliver real results rather than simply charging for access to AI.

Final thoughts about CoSupport AI

If there’s one takeaway from this CoSupport AI review, it’s that CoSupport AI is much more than a basic AI chatbot.

With flexible knowledge management, customizable workflows, and an excellent testing environment, it gives support teams the tools to build AI they can actually trust. While there’s still room to improve retrieval accuracy, it’s a platform I’d confidently recommend.

How ngram Performed on a Real Marketing Project

The first video I got from ngram for our campaign was around 90% publish-ready. The quality really impressed me, which isn’t an easy task since I have high standards as a content creator who has already recorded and edited +100 videos.

The animations, motions, and the flow of the video exactly nailed the feeling I wanted to create, and ngram worked well with the assets and prompts I provided. Most importantly, it didn’t have the generic “AI-generated” look that many AI video tools still struggle with.

However, the video was not perfect and needed some adjustments to reach 100% publishable content according to my standards.

And this is where I started to feel ngram’s limitations.

It makes changes based on prompts, and while I tried to be really accurate with the instructions, it did not work out in some cases. So, in the end, I started to make some final adjustments in my video editor.

In the end, I only needed a handful of manual edits before exporting the final version. Overall, I estimate ngram saved me around 30–40 hours of work and roughly $500–$2,000 in production costs.

To sum it up, my experience with ngram was great, but not perfect. After creating more versions for the launch video of Floviu, I realized that even if you get only an 80-90% publishable video with ngram, it will be worth the investment.

What is ngram?

ngram is an AI-powered video creation platform for product teams, marketers, and SaaS founders. It automatically transforms text, URLs, documents, and raw screen recordings into polished, branded videos.

During the process, it generates voiceovers, motion graphics, transitions, and captions and combines them into a high-quality video.

How I created my marketing video for Floviu with ngram

Let me reveal my experience with ngram step-by-step.

What I Learned Before Clicking “Generate”

When starting the process, you can select the type of video you want to create with ngram. As mentioned, I selected the product launch for my SaaS.

After, you can select the length and the platform where you want to primarily publish the video. You can also provide additional information like text and a URL to give ngram more context for the video.

I created my videos around one minute, and my main platform was YouTube. Since Floviu’s website was not ready when testing only the app, I described the idea for the video.

Then, I uploaded videos, images, and selected the narration.

But the most interesting part was the style. I mostly used the auto, but if you have clear ideas in your mind, you can opt for the paper cutout, 3D Pop, Doodle, and other styles.

I loved the level of depth here, as I could choose the story flow, background music, watermark, subtitles, and target audience.

Based on my experience, the better your inputs, the fewer AI credits you’ll spend on revisions later.

Also, I recommend you start the process once you have the application and website, and a clear idea of your target audience and your aim for the video. Otherwise, you will just burn your credits, as it will require many edits inside and even outside ngram.

What Happened After ngram Generated the Video

The whole video generation process took around 2 hours. ngram created the scenes, background music, script, motions, and more.

And honestly, the quality was surprisingly high. As I mentioned above, it was almost in a publishable stage for me. My expectations are probably higher than those of most founders because I’ve produced and edited more than 100 videos. That made the quality even more impressive.

So, the fact that ngram delivered this quality impressed me.

It breaks down the whole video into scenes, and with its built-in video editor, you can make some high-level changes. However, ngram was not designed for advanced video editing.

You can split and delete scenes, change background color, and move the voiceovers. And basically that’s it. Nonetheless, these settings are sufficient for making a few smaller adjustments before exporting, especially if you don’t have a subscription for a dedicated video editor.

Until this point, my experience with ngram has been flawless, and I was impressed by its capabilities.

Refining the Video with AI

On the left side, you can ask ngram to make changes, such as replacing pictures, removing scenes, choosing a different voiceover, changing the visual style, and more.

One thing I quickly realized is that asking AI to modify an existing scene is much harder than generating the first version. Small edits often affected other parts of the video, so I got the best results by making larger changes in my video editor instead.

It offers plenty of avatars and voiceover options. Personally, I only used the voiceovers since I did not need an avatar in my launching video. Nevertheless, they can be useful for “how-to” type videos.

Making changes in the voiceover was easy and relatively fast.

However, when I started asking for modifications to the video, things sometimes went wrong. For example, I asked to remove a person from the scenes. It was successfully removed. Afterward, I asked to make a scene longer, and suddenly the person appeared again.

This was frustrating sometimes. Luckily, there is an option to revert to previous versions, so it did not affect the video negatively. But still, all the changes require AI credits, so you have to be cautious about what you ask from AI.

Also, I had to wait around 10 minutes to get one change. So, it is also time-consuming, particularly if you make changes throughout numerous scenes.

After making the most crucial AI adjustments, I took over the editing from there, partly using the built-in editor and partly my video editor, and I finalized the video.

Cost vs value

If you choose the Free plan, you will get 300 credits, 720p export with a watermark, and 30 sec AI generation. In my opinion, this will be only sufficient to get a quick look at the capabilities of ngram.

The Basic plan is $23.20 monthly with annual billing. You will get 1800 credits, 3 minutes of AI generation, unlimited manual edits, AI text generation, and access to the default models.

If you need ngram for creating a longer video, the Plus plan is $47.20 per month billed annually. It gives you access to 6 minutes of AI generation, brandkit, and 3600 monthly credits.

In case you are really serious about content, you can choose the Pro plan for $239.20. You will receive 18,000 AI credits, 30 minutes of AI generation, team access, and more.

For me, the Plus plan offers the best balance between AI credits and flexibility if you’re creating product videos regularly.

Final thoughts: ngram review

ngram is an exciting video generation platform, and the best AI video generator I’ve tested so far. Its output is super high quality, and it saves a lot of time even if you need to make some edits afterward.

The limitations I hit are the change requests, but apart from that, ngram performed really well for our marketing project.

Sometimes, that simplicity genuinely impressed me. Other times, it felt far too limited compared to tools like Fellow, Fireflies AI, or MeetGeek.

In this Granola review, I’ll break down where the minimalist approach works surprisingly well, where it becomes frustrating, and whether Granola is actually worth paying for in 2026.

What is Granola?

Granola is a lightweight and minimalistic bot-less AI note-taker for online meetings. This is one of its main strengths, but also a weakness, and later I will tell you exactly why I come to this conclusion.

It works on all the video conferencing platforms, including Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. To utilize Granola, you need to download its desktop app (Windows or Mac).

Ultimately, it was designed for people with back-to-back meetings, helping them stay engaged and focus on the discussion rather than taking notes.

How Granola performed in my daily workflow

During my Granola review, I had some ups and downs. Let me break this down.

From the positive side, Granola provided accurate transcriptions. It impressed me with the meeting notes and the way it converts my own notes into AI-generated summaries. The desktop app is intuitive and straightforward, and the meeting tool ultimately has a short learning curve.

On the other hand, Granola lacks workflow depth. The missing recording feature was probably the biggest downside for me.

Granola’s pricing feels fair, but not especially competitive. Don’t get me wrong, it provides a good value for this money, but still, there might be some better options out there for the same price.

To summarize, Granola is a lightweight AI note-taker for those who only need transcription and AI notes. After using it for weeks, Granola fell short for me due to its feature depth and did not make it to the list of best AI note-takers.

Why Granola scored 3.6 out of 5

Granola delivers solid core performance, with good ratings in meeting notes (4/5). It also stands out with a clean user interface (4.5/5) and strong integrations (4.5/5), making it very easy to use in day-to-day workflows.

However, the biggest drawback is its limited feature depth, reflected in lower scores for collaboration features (2.5/5) and especially other capabilities (2/5). Missing features, such as recording or advanced analytics, reduced Granola’s overall score.

What using Granola actually felt like in meetings

Bot-free transcription

The reason why I loved Granola is that this AI note-taking app does not use meeting bots to transcribe calls. Essentially, it means that it only listens to your device’s audio, and no bots join your meeting.

I noticed people acted more naturally during meetings because there wasn’t another “participant” sitting silently in the call, so the bot-less approach is definitely the right approach for many cases.

The meeting transcript is very simple, as you can see. Granola transcribes meetings in real time. That said, you only need to hit the button to see the live transcript. The transcript looks similar to Krisp, but Granola feels more basic and offers fewer options to work with the transcription.

Once someone else starts to talk, speaker recognition is turned on, and it will organize transcripts accordingly. However, there is no advanced speaker identification, and the real-time transcription will identify speakers as Speaker A, Speaker B, and so on.

If I compare it with other bot-less options, for instance, Bluedot, Granola seems too minimalist. While I understand it was designed as a lightweight AI note-taker, there are certain features that are a must-have for me.

So, first, when I reviewed a past meeting with Granola, I looked for the recording, but did not find it. I said “okay, it’s quite a frustrating one, but I will survive”.

After working with the transcript, I noticed it lacked advanced speaker differentiation, which made the review process more burdensome.

To wrap it up, Granola only earned 3 stars out of 5 due to limited options for working with the transcript and the missing video recording feature.

AI notes

Granola’s AI-generated notes work a bit differently compared to other meeting tools. Besides analyzing the transcript, it converts your own notes from the meeting into an AI-generated summary.

If you take a closer look at the picture, you will see text in black. Now, that’s my own notes, while all the other bullet points are written by Granola.

To convert your own notes into AI-generated notes, you only need to click on the “Enhance notes” option, and Granola will take care of the rest.

This was probably the moment where Granola impressed me the most. I often write messy shorthand notes during meetings, and Granola surprisingly turned them into structured summaries that actually sounded usable afterward.

Granola’s lightweight approach also narrows its use cases compared to tools like Fellow or MeetGeek, where I get more advanced meeting notes and can get more value from them.

That said, giving 4 stars out of 5 is a fair approach here, I think.

Ask Granola

The Ask Granola feature works like an AI chatbot for your meetings. In day-to-day use, I asked questions, asked to write follow-ups, or identify action items.

Ask Granola provided me with relevant outputs, and it was pretty fast. It was great to see that Granola included this feature in the Free plan.

Ultimately, it is a helpful feature to quickly access the key points about your meetings or perform some meeting-related tasks faster.

Templates

With Granola, you can choose from numerous meeting templates. Based on the template you choose, it will organize your meeting notes accordingly.

That said, it offers meeting templates for 1:1 meetings, customer calls, and more. An additional plus for me is that you can add and remove sections when customizing or creating a new meeting template.

This way, you can fully personalize the templates for your meetings. It is definitely a useful feature for many users!

Team features

Finally, Granola has some team features for small businesses. It is useful that you can share the meeting notes with a few clicks through email, Slack, a link, or by copying the text.

Also, you can create shared folders with your teams, so you can centralize your meeting summaries in one place and organize them into different folders, like sales calls or team meetings.

However, I would still not recommend Granola for teams, as it lacks advanced team collaboration features such as chat, advanced permissions, roles, and more. While it is ideal for individuals, if you need an AI note-taker for teams, I would consider Fellow, MeetGeek, or Fireflies AI.

Given the available collaboration features, Granola earned 2.5 stars out of 5.

Granola’s integrations and compatibility

In the course of my Granola review, I discovered that it is excellent in terms of integrations, as you can connect it with some of the most popular apps like Google Workspace, HubSpot, Slack, and Zapier.

Also, I recommend adding Granola to your Google Calendar & your Google Workspace account for a better user experience.

Granola’s design and usability

In short, Granola has a simple and intuitive user interface. On the left side, you will access your notes, folders, account information, and more.

Probably, one of the most straightforward interfaces I saw in the past three years was when testing AI note-taking apps.

What does it cost?

Granola offers a Basic plan (i.e., Free plan) and two paid plans.

Let me break them down for you!

Basic plan

Granola provides a free Basic plan with features like AI meeting notes, Ask Granola, shared folders, customized note templates, and multi-language support. However, your meeting notes will stay viewable for a limited time.

The free tier is ideal for those who want to give Granola a try but are not sure if it is for them.

Business plan

The Business plan is $14 per user per month, and includes everything in the Basic plan. Additionally, you will get unlimited meeting history and notes, consolidated billing, access to the advanced AI models, and you can connect Granola with Slack, Hubspot, Notion, Zapier, Attio, and Affinity.

Enterprise plan

Finally, Granola offers an Enterprise plan for larger companies for $35 per user per month. It covers enterprise-grade security, SSO, priority support, usage analytics, and more. So, this plan is for businesses with higher compliance and security requirements.

With these pricing plans, I expected more features and functionality, such as recording. That’s where Granola became difficult for me to justify compared to tools like Fireflies AI or Fellow.

Granola’s security

After using Granola for several meetings, I took a deep dive into its security and privacy policy. Also, I did some research on the web to see if there are any red flags about this AI note-taking app.

Granola is SOC 2 and GDPR compliant, and it does not allow third parties to use your data to train their AI models. So, all looks good on paper.

However, I found some past reports of Granola allowing anyone to download other users’ transcripts without authentication. It was around May, but since then, I have not found any red flags.

Personally, I wouldn’t consider this a dealbreaker today for most of you, but it did make me pause before trusting the platform with sensitive meetings.

My final thoughts on Granola

After my Granola review, it became clear to me that it intentionally sacrifices depth for simplicity.

I can absolutely see why some people love Granola. If all you want is lightweight, distraction-free AI note-taking, it does a great job.

However, as someone who has tested numerous AI note-takers, I kept running into moments where I wanted Granola to deliver more.

So while Granola is a solid minimalist AI note-taker, I personally wouldn’t replace my current setup with it.

Taskade is an AI-powered productivity tool for task, work, project management, and note-taking. Over the past year, Taskade has shifted from a pure productivity app toward an AI-first workspace and app builder.

One thing is sure: it has a strong focus on team collaboration, and I will show these later. With Taskade, you can automate tasks, research, and collaborate with your team members in real time.

Taskade is a special AI tool. It allows you to create custom AI agents for specific workflows, train them by giving instructions or uploading files, and even generate full workflows or systems with AI.

My experience with Taskade

To be honest, when I first saw the user interface during my Taskade review, I was a little bit skeptical. It did not look like a tool for work. But after a few hours, it totally changed.

It was easy to navigate, and I discovered almost every feature in a few hours. I especially loved the way they integrated the automation and the AI agents.

With the current feature set, Taskade offers a unique experience to manage your projects, tasks, and notes with your team members in a centralized place.

Ultimately, I had a pleasant experience with this AI-productivity tool.

Why Taskade got a 4.3 / 5 score

Taskade lacks advanced reporting (3/5), and its project management features (3.5/5) are far more limited than those of dedicated project management apps.

However, it offers outstanding collaboration features (5/5) and an intuitive UI (5/5), and its AI agents can automate numerous day-to-day processes.

Project management software

Taskade is a lightweight project management software. The reason why I say that it is a lightweight project management app is that it does not have advanced project management tools like time tracking features. Also, it is not a complex project management app compared to other apps.

However, it has many valuable features to make your project management workflows faster and simpler while enhancing productivity and team collaboration. With your AI agents, you can make the project planning much shorter, as it can structure the tasks, offer potential sub-tasks, set up reminders based on your timeline, etc.

Besides AI agents, automation is also useful in project management. Taskade’s automation allows you to streamline repetitive tasks by setting up a wide set of real-time triggers (task added/updated, comments, external feeds like YouTube/RSS) and chained actions.

You can design custom workflows and integrate them with Google Sheets, Slack, or WordPress.

Let me give you some examples of how the automation works. You can create a rule for sending Slack notifications if there is a new comment for your tasks in Taskade. Or, it can automatically create a task after a meeting is scheduled in Calendly.

This was my favorite feature during my Taskade review, as you can customize the rules of automation in detail. So, when adding a next step when an action is triggered, there are many options from which you can choose, like sending it to another app or sending a notification to project managers.

Let’s move on to the task management features!

Task management

Taskade is a task management software that allows you to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively. When I said that Taskade is a lightweight project management app, it is not true for task management, as it has solid features.

You can easily add and assign tasks to your team members. With one click, you can create task lists and give due dates, tags, and notes to each task.

The AI agents are also quite helpful when creating multiple tasks. They can help break projects and complex tasks into sub-tasks and are great for brainstorming what other tasks you should consider.

Note-taking

Taskade can also work as a note-taking app. Nevertheless, compared to note-taking apps like Notion, Obsidian, Anytype, or Xtiles, Taskade lacks advanced note-taking capabilities.

While Taskade works well for simple notes, it doesn’t offer some features that dedicated note-taking tools do, such as relational databases and more sophisticated knowledge-management systems.

But to be honest, Taskade was not originally designed as a traditional note-taking tool. It uses a task-based structure where most content can easily be turned into actionable items, connected to projects, or automated with workflows.

And this approach comes in handy when it comes to meeting notes. You can instantly create tasks, summaries, and organized lists from your meeting notes using Taskade. Utilizing Taskade’s AI capabilities in these workflows can really enhance productivity.

Let’s take a look at these AI features!

AI agents

In short, Taskade’s AI agents aren’t simple chatbots. They can store short- and long-term memory, be trained on workspace data, orchestrate as multi-agent teams, and you can pick from multiple LLM providers depending on the task.

You can tailor your AI agents to your specific needs by adding sources from which it can work and giving instructions.

You can create AI agents for project management, content creation, data analysis, and so on. When creating your AI agent, you need to describe precisely the scope of activities it is responsible for. Do not worry. Taskade will pre-fill the instructions for many AI agents, and you can amend them if you want.

After, you need to choose from the commands. For example, I created an AI assistant for project management, and I could choose from these commands:

Furthermore, you need to add the tools it should use. It can get its content from any website, or you can select some specific website from which it should provide you with input.

At this point in my Taskade review, I nearly spit out my coffee. I had not seen similar features in any of the productivity tools before. The AI assistants are just too powerful.

What this means in practice is that you can create multiple agents and let them assist with different parts of your workflow. For example, one agent can help with project planning, another can generate content ideas, while another can analyze documents or summarize research.

With these capabilities, Taskade allows you to build small AI-powered systems around your projects rather than just using AI for simple prompts.

AI App Builder (Genesis)

One of the biggest recent additions to Taskade is its AI app builder called Genesis.

Instead of manually creating tasks, workflows, and dashboards, you can simply describe what you want, and Taskade generates the entire structure for you. For example, you can ask it to create a CRM system, a content marketing workflow, an SEO dashboard, a project management workspace, or even an internal knowledge base.

Within seconds, Taskade generates tasks, workflows, automations, and even AI agents that power the system.

During my testing, this was very different from traditional productivity tools. Instead of building everything step by step, you can start with an AI-generated structure and then customize it.

Of course, these AI-generated setups are not perfect and usually require some adjustments. Still, they can save a significant amount of time when creating new workflows or internal systems. If you frequently build dashboards, workflows, or project structures, this feature can noticeably speed up the whole process.

Views

You can choose from numerous view options, including list, board, table, timeline, mind map, org chart, calendar, and Gantt Chart views. My favorite one is the mind mapping feature.

Mind maps help you view the whole project from a bird’ s-eye view. You can change between the views dynamically with a click.

Chat with your docs

If you click on the “+” button, you can add files to your projects. Taskade supports almost all file formats, from PDF to JPG and MOV.

You can interact with the uploaded files if you move the mouse cursor over the uploaded attachment and click the “ask AI” tab. It allows you to ask questions about the document, summarize it, etc. So, this feature ultimately helps you digest documents faster.

Templates

Taskade offers numerous templates for task management, project management, mind maps, team management, etc. They can save you massive time, as you no longer need to start from scratch when creating a new project.

You can publish and clone apps from Taskade’s community gallery, or fork AI templates to jumpstart projects.

Collaboration tools

Taskade AI offers a shared space for teams to communicate, collaborate, and manage their projects. This app is full of collaboration features.

You can easily share your workspaces and projects with your team members. To share your whole workspace, click here and share its link or send it in an email. You can also change the permission level. So, it is possible if you want your team members only to view and not edit your content. If you want to share your project, just click on the three dots next to your project, and you will have the same options.

After you share them with your team members, you can chat with them next to every project. It is a practical solution that the chat and the project you work on are on the same page.

When you click on the chat, you can decide if you want to chat with Taskade AI & your team, only with your team, only with Taskade AI, or with one of your AI agents.

Moreover, Taskade has robust features when it comes to real-time collaboration. You can assign tasks to your team members, edit your projects together, and create a knowledge management center for your company.

Taskade’s user interface

Taskade has a user-friendly and intuitive interface with a beautiful design. Also, it has quite a short learning curve, and you can quickly learn to utilize almost all the features.

I also enjoyed the way how Taskade structures its pages and functions. Essentially, you can find almost all the features on the page you are working on. So, you can access the team chat, AI features, different views, and other projects on the same page without feeling that it is packed.

You can find Taskade among the mobile apps as well, whether you use Android or iOS.

During my Taskade review, I discovered that it offers a wide range of integrations. You can connect Taskade with Zapier, which allows you to integrate Taskade with more than 8000 third-party apps.

Furthermore, you can use automation with many popular apps like Gmail, Slack, Google Forms, WordPress, MailChimp, Webflow, Calendly, and more. There’s also a large gallery of 1,000+ AI-powered templates and a community gallery of cloneable apps to speed setup.

What is Tactiq?

Tactiq is an AI-powered meeting assistant that transcribes and summarizes meetings on Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Unlike most AI note-taking tools, Tactiq does not require bots to transcribe meetings.

It supports 60+ languages for transcription and captures your words in real time, so you can follow along without taking notes.

My hands-on experience with Tactiq

When testing Tactiq, I found that it offers an average accuracy 85%-90% for the meeting transcriptions. But my main issue was not the accuracy, but live transcription.

I had to try numerous times to access the real-time transcription during a call. Honestly, it was a bit frustrating, since it would be one of Tactiq’s most crucial features, and it didn’t work across multiple meetings.

Moreover, you have to spend credits for prompts to get your AI meeting notes. And you only get unlimited AI credits with the Team plan, so the Free and Pro plans are limited for those who want to use the AI tools in depth.

Although I am not a big fan of this solution, it is great that you can use your own prompts for AI summaries and build your own meeting templates for project updates, one-on-one calls, and more.

Another important feature I missed is the capability to record meetings. For sales calls, it would be important to rewatch the meeting recordings (at least for me) to better understand what clients feel & think. And unfortunately, Tactiq is not ideal for this use case.

As for the other features, it made a good impression on me with its AI workflows, file uploads, and wide range of integrations.

To summarize, it has some great features on paper, but some of them did not deliver during my Tactiq review. While I can see its place in some of your software stacks, for me, other bot-less AI note-takers worked out better, like Bluedot or Krisp.

Why Tactiq earned a 3.6 / 5

Tactiq delivers outstanding AI workflows and solid summaries, which is why it scores well in other capabilities criteria (4/5) and AI meeting notes (4/5). Its ability to extract action items and automate post-meeting workflows is one of the best parts of the tool.

However, the biggest issue is inconsistency in core features. Tactiq only gets 3.5 out of 5 for transcription & recording because of the inconsistent real-time transcription and the complete lack of meeting recording.

Pricing (3/5) and the free plan (2.5/5) further reduce its final score due to AI credit limits, even on paid plans.

In this part, I will guide you through the key features I tried during my Tactiq review!

Before jumping right in the middle, an important note that is crucial for probably most of you. You can not record meetings with Tactiq, and it only offers transcription and AI summaries.

Bot-free meeting transcription

During your meetings, Tactiq offers real-time transcription on the right widget. You can also highlight key points with emojis when you are in a meeting.

Maybe it’s just me, but I had a hard time using the real-time transcription feature. Even after setting up Tactiq numerous times and testing it across numerous meetings, I did not see the real-time transcription feature.

After your meetings, Tactiq will generate a transcription. I utilized it for numerous meetings on Google Meet and received around 85% transcription accuracy.

Based on my experience after testing almost all the AI note-takers, the average transcription accuracy is between 85%-90%, so Tactiq offers a decent result. However, compared to what I saw during my Fellow testing, which I use for my meetings, Tactiq has lower accuracy, as I experience 95%+ accuracy with Fellow.

Tactiq allows you to edit your meeting transcription with a few clicks. Also, you can add icons, bookmarks, and comments.

Moreover, you can remove specific parts of the meeting transcripts if you want. However, after the removal, there is no way to restore the deleted part, so use it carefully.

In addition, you can upload audio, video, or even YouTube links to transcribe and summarize them. It is also a useful feature for many of you, and only a few AI note-taking apps offer the ability to transcribe YouTube videos.

Overall, the meeting transcripts were decent. Tactiq supports multiple languages, offers the essential features, and the transcription accuracy is fine.

AI summaries

You can create meeting notes using prompts. Here, you can ask for shorter or longer summaries, or create your own prompt to organize your notes in a way that is perfect for you. Once you hit on the prompt, Tactiq provides you with instant meeting summaries.

On one hand, I loved the flexibility to only create what you actually need, and you don’t have to go through long AI summaries that you don’t need for that specific case.

On the other hand, all the prompts require AI credits, and the free plan includes 5, while the Pro plan includes 10 credits. So, even with a paid plan, you can use the meeting notes with limits.

When generating summaries, it took around 15-30 seconds to get the requested format. The AI summaries are well-organized, and you can edit them if you double-click on the text.

What I noticed during my Tactiq review is that it is solid in identifying and highlighting action items. This platform is very good at highlighting action items. Once an action item is identified, it is automatically added to a task list, tagged with the speaker’s name.

To wrap up my experience with the AI meeting notes of Tactiq, I was satisfied. It was great to see that it offers more options for what you want, whether you want detailed AI meeting notes or just a short summary with citations.

AI chat

When testing Tactiq for 5 meetings, I also tried its AI assistant a few times. It took between 5 and 10 seconds to get answers, and the responses included timestamps.

If you hit the AI Chat option on the left, you can ask Tactiq AI to pull out the answers from numerous past calls’ meeting data. This way, you can analyze and gather information from more meetings in the same time.

Ultimately, Tactiq has a great Ask AI feature, and it surprised me how accurately it answers questions.

AI workflows

The AI workflows are automated, customizable, post-meeting processes that convert live meeting transcripts into actionable insights. Essentially, it reduces the manual work by updating your project management apps, CRMs, or sharing tools via Slack or Notion.

You can create an AI workflow for project updates, and after your transcript is processed, it generates a ready-to-send update automatically. Tactiq lets you create AI workflows from scratch or use pre-made workflows to automate meeting tasks.

It’s great that you can build AI workflows even on the free plan. I appreciated Tactiq’s focus on post-meeting workflows, and this feature makes it one of the best AI note-taking tools for this purpose. I tried only one AI note-taker with more advanced post-meeting & task management features, and it is Radiant.

Spaces

Under the “My Meetings” tab, you can access your past conversations. You can apply filters like date, participants, owners, tag, and more.

Personally, I prefer it when you can structure meeting notes in folders, since it makes your past meetings more scannable & lets you personalize access rules in more depth.

In case of Tactiq, you can create spaces for your team members to share meeting notes & transcriptions. When adding spaces, you can select whether the team members can add meetings, manage them, or only view them.

Compared to Fellow or other AI note-takers, Tactiq offers fewer options for creating access and permissions rules, making it more suitable for individuals than teams.

Tactiq integrations

Tactiq is quite solid in terms of integrations, and you can connect it to numerous productivity apps, making your AI workflows more efficient.

That said, you can integrate Tactiq with Google Docs, ClickUp, Evernote, Asana, and more.

Tactiq’s design is straightforward, and you can easily navigate its pages. Fortunately, the features are not hidden, and you can find all the functions you need relatively fast.

Free plan

The Free forever plan gets you just 10 meetings per month and only 5 AI credits that you can use for summaries, notes, questions, and more. You can access the AI workflows as well with the free plan.

Tactiq’s Free plan is nowhere near what I see in Fathom or tl;dv’s free version, but it can work for individuals with a few meetings.

Pro plan

The Pro plan provides unlimited transcripts but still limits AI credits to 10 per month. It is $8 per user per month with annual billing, and you have access to additional features such as pausing automatic transcription or disabling transcription notifications.

The limited AI credits make the Pro plan ideal only for those with a limited number of meetings per month. So, I would not recommend this plan for professionals or freelancers.

Team plan

The Team plan is where you unlock unlimited AI credits and get priority customer support for $16.67 per month with annual billing.

This plan is designed for professionals and small teams.

Business plan

If you have more than 20 users, Tactiq offers its business plan for $29.16 per month, billed annually, which gives you access to additional advanced features. With the Business plan, you get advanced data retention, single sign-on, and a customer success manager.

Enterprise plan

Finally, Tactiq has an Enterprise plan for larger organizations with custom pricing. It comes with a dedicated account manager, customizable single sign-on, and in-meeting notifications.

Tactiq’s security

Tactiq holds security certifications, including SOC 2, PCI, and HIPAA. During my Tactiq review, I also checked for any red flags regarding Tactiq’s privacy and safety.

It was a great sign that they just updated the safety controls 21 minutes ago when checking this AI note-taker security. I also scanned Trustpilot and Reddit to see if anyone had a negative experience with safety, but did not find any negative reports on this matter.

Furthermore, I did not encounter any issues or red flags during my testing, so we can consider Tactiq a safe app.

Furthermore, if you are looking for a free AI note-taker, you will hit limitations quickly with Tactiq, as its Free plan includes only 10 meetings per month and 5 AI credits.

After testing Tactiq for 5 calls, I noticed both outstanding and frustrating things. The idea behind Tactiq’s features is super cool, and I love the focus on workflows and post-meeting actions.

However, the execution was off sometimes, and I missed a few must-have features I tried when testing other AI note-takers.

That said, at this stage of this AI note-taker and given the advancement of AI note-takers, I can’t really recommend Tactiq right now. However, if they address the majority of my identified cons, it can quickly become a top AI note-taking tool.

What is Zoom AI Companion?

Zoom AI companion is Zoom’s AI assistant built into the workspace that provides real-time meeting summaries, action item generation, and content drafting for chat, email, and whiteboards.

Therefore, the only way to use Zoom AI Companion is if you download Zoom’s desktop app and subscribe to one of Zoom’s paid plans.

My experience with Zoom AI Companion

Zoom AI Companion is a decent AI note-taking app for those who already have a paid Zoom subscription. It is a simple app with a quite short learning curve, even if this is your first time using an AI meeting assistant.

But if you don’t have a paid Zoom plan, is it worth upgrading to the free plan just for this feature?

No.

For this money, you can find some better options out there, and the issues I found during my Zoom AI Companion review do not justify its price for me.

The first and quite obvious issue with this AI note-taker is the feature set. There are no conversational intelligence tools, no advanced library tools to structure your calls, quite a few collaboration features, and so on.

Secondly, you can not use it for in-person meetings, which can be crucial for some of you. Also, based on user reports, speaker identification is limited to Zoom users, meaning if someone outside of the meeting spoke, for example, a team member next to you, it won’t be transcribed.

Overall, Zoom AI Companion is an okay AI note-taker. However, given its pricing, feature set, and use cases, there are significantly more advanced AI meeting assistants that can transcribe, summarize, and record your Zoom calls.

Breaking down Zoom AI Companion’s final score

Zoom AI Companion delivers only decent performance when evaluating its features and functionalities. For transcription & recording and meeting notes, it gets 3.5 out of 5.

Nevertheless, it gets maximum points for integrations (5/5) and privacy & safety (5/5), mainly thanks to its deep integration within the Zoom ecosystem.

It also performs mediocre in pricing (3.5/5) and offers a limited free plan (2.5/5). However, the biggest limitations come from its feature depth and flexibility, which significantly decrease the overall score of Zoom AI Companion.

Key Features

Below, I will guide you through the key features I tried during my Zoom AI Companion review.

Transcription and recording

Zoom AI Companion offers transcription and recording features for your online meetings. However, before joining a call, I recommend that you open your settings and choose when you want the AI companion to join, who can ask it questions during the meeting, and where the summaries should be shared — whether that’s by email, Slack, or not at all.

Furthermore, you can set your preferences on when you want the Zoom AI Companion to be used for some specific meetings. That said, you can adjust your preferences on a case-by-case basis on when you want it to join your calls.

When scheduling your call, you can select if you want to automatically start the AI companion, which can ask questions about the meeting transcript and what template it should follow.

When joining your Zoom calls, you can choose whether to auto-start the AI companion. But it offers possibilities to help you prepare for the meeting if you provide additional information on the call, ask for icebreakers, and tips for effective meetings. Once all set and done, you can join the call.

During the meeting, you can access the AI companion in the top-right corner. Moreover, you can also stop the AI Companion feature or ask questions like, “Was my name mentioned?” or ask for key action items, but basically anything. That said, late joiners or distracted meeting participants can ask for a recap without interrupting the meeting.

Also, you can attach files if needed during virtual meetings, which is a useful addition.

After the meeting, Zoom will send you an email about your call, including the meeting recording and transcription. Nevertheless, you can also find a list of transcripts by navigating to Recordings & Transcripts in the Zoom Web Portal.

The transcription is quite basic, nothing extra. During my Zoom AI Companion review, I discovered that it offers decent transcription accuracy between 80 and 90%. You can also download the meeting transcript in a Microsoft Word file.

Personally, I would love to see if the transcription and recording are in the same place where you can find the meeting recap. It is just more convenient to find everything in one place next to each other.

With Zoom AI Companion, it is a bit frustrating to me that if I want to review the transcription, I have to log in to the Web Portal, and I can not do it inside the app.

Overall, I felt the meeting transcripts were too basic, and I don’t see the logic for storing them in the Web portal instead of the desktop app. After testing tools like Fellow, the contrast between the transcriptions was huge.

Meeting summaries

When your meeting is over, Zoom AI companion will provide you with a meeting recap, and you can ask questions about your calls. You can access the meeting recaps in the app, the Web portal, and it is also attached to the email once your call is concluded.

If you want to access the meeting summary later, just click Docs to review your past meetings anytime, along with the other documents you created in Zoom Workspace.

Zoom AI Companion summarizes the most essential points from your entire meeting. It includes a quick recap, next steps, and a longer summary. You can create and choose from meeting templates, and it will structure the meeting summary accordingly. Also, you can write prompts and ask for more details, the key takeaways, topics, risks, action items, and more.

If Zoom AI Companion missed anything, you can add further details as it works like a block-based text editor. So, you can add bullet points, files, headings, and more. If you click the three dots, you can access additional settings such as page width, translation, link copying, and more.

Lastly, it is useful that you can add comments to the meeting summaries, mention your team members, and attach files.

In general, the meeting notes are fine but far less powerful than MeetGeek’s, so I would only recommend them to lightweight users.

AI chat

Zoom’s AI-powered assistant worked surprisingly well during my Zoom AI Companion review. It provides reliable outputs fast, and you can ask it to highlight key points, questions about your meeting notes, documents, and more.

While it is not as advanced as third-party AI meeting assistants like Fellow, it can do the work.

Tasks

This feature helps users automate the lifecycle of action items, from identification to completion. It identifies your meeting notes, recordings, and transcriptions to find the action items and collect them in one place.

It is also great that each recommended task includes a link to the original conversation to ensure you have the context.

Similar to some other previous features, if we compare this feature with Radiant or Fellow task management features, it only provides the essentials, and you won’t find advanced tools to manage your pulled-out tasks from your calls.

Docs

Zoom AI Companion offers more than just smart recording, meeting summaries, and transcription. It can help you create content in your Zoom Workspace.

Inside the Docs, you can create content like posts, forms, tables, and more. You can use Zoom AI Companion to improve drafts, prepare content from scratch, and brainstorm ideas.

If you have used Notion before, the way Docs works will be familiar. It allows users to structure content as blocks that can be dragged and dropped onto pages.

Integrations

You can connect Zoom AI Companion with numerous third-party apps, including Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, Jira, Zendesk, Notion, and more.

If you log in to your Zoom Web Portal, you can enable additional data sources like Google Docs or Microsoft 365, allowing Zoom AI Companion to access that information.

User interface

Zoom Workspace has a user-friendly interface where you can easily find all key features, from team chat messages to Docs. Ultimately, the whole Zoom platform requires a short learning curve, including Zoom AI Companion features.

Pricing

Zoom AI Companion is included with all paid Zoom plans, including Pro, Business, and Enterprise. However, the Free plan also covers three meetings per month where you can use Zoom AI Companion.

To utilize all the benefits, you need to purchase at least the Pro plan, which costs $14.16 per user per month with annual billing. A quick note: Zoom AI Companion is included at no additional cost for users with paid Zoom accounts and offers unlimited AI note-taking for Zoom meetings and third-party video conferencing platforms.

Bluedot is a bot-free AI note-taker for Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack calls. It works on any platform and auto-updates your CRM, Notion, and more.

Bluedot offers a Chrome extension to quickly capture calls on all popular video conferencing platforms, while its desktop version supports Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. Bluedot also supports in-person meetings via its mobile app.

My hands-on experience with Bluedot

After testing 25+ AI note-takers, I found Bluedot to be one of the easiest to use. While I noticed that a few users mentioned that Bluedot’s setup can be clunky and requires more manual configuration than competitors, I don’t agree with them. For me, it was really smooth to set up Bluedot and get started.

The transcription was accurate, and the meeting notes were well structured. It’s also great that you can create meeting templates, and Bluedot offers sufficient customization options here.

One of the main advantages of Bluedotis is that you can record calls without a bot, which most bot-less AI note-takers can’t do.

When comparing it to other bot-less AI note-takers I tried, like Granola and Krisp, I think Bluedot really finds the right balance between being a lightweight tool and offering all the necessary features. In contrast, Granola felt too basic at times, while Krips is feature-heavy but requires a learning curve.

When it comes to the cons, the first thing I would mention is its free plan. The 5-lifetime limit only allows users to test Bluedot and decide afterward whether it is worth it. That said, if you are looking for a free AI note-taker, Bluedot will not be ideal for you.

Overall, Bluedot is a straightforward and easy-to-use bot-free AI note-taker that is also one of the best AI note-takers. It’s safe, you can set it up within minutes, and it offers excellent meeting notes for your calls.

Breaking down Bluedot’s final score

Bluedot delivers excellent performance across most key functionalities, with top scores in transcription & recording (4.5/5), meeting notes (5/5), collaboration features (4.5/5), integrations (5/5), and privacy (5/5). It strikes a strong balance between ease of use and a solid feature set.

I also had a great experience during my Bluedot review (5/5) and found its intuitive user interface (4/5) to be one of the easiest AI note-takers to set up and use in real workflows.

Where Bluedot loses some points is pricing (4/5) and especially its free plan (2.5/5), which is quite limited and feels more like a trial.

It was among the few AI note-takers that worked instantly after setup, without any fiddling with the settings. You only need to click on the Google Extension, and you can capture your calls in seconds. So, setting up Bluedot for my Google Meet calls was really straightforward.

You can access the automated transcription on the right side. The transcriptions are quite fast and mostly accurate.

What I also liked about this tool is that you can leave comments in the transcription and quickly clip specific moments, making it great for collaboration. With Bluedot’s speaker identification, you can also clearly differentiate who said what.

Since Bluedot supports transcription in over 100 languages, it is an ideal solution for multi-language teams.

Also, I noticed that Bluedot automatically cuts your uhms and filler words, making the transcripts look way more neat.

One small thing – it also offers a search feature, so you can quickly find the information you are looking for in the transcription.

Overall, I think Bluedot offers fine transcriptions, especially with high-quality audio. Compared to other bot-free options, including Granola, Tactiq, and Krisp, Bluedot provided me with more accurate meeting transcription.

Meeting recording

Most bot-free AI note-takers can’t record meetings. However, it’s not the case with Bluedot. Once you join a call, Bluedot offers video and audio recording. You can also import your own video and audio recordings for transcription and summarization.

After your meeting, you will find the recording alongside the transcription and meeting notes. You can also change the playback speed from 1x to 2x.

Meeting notes

The meeting notes are well structured. It covers an overview, action items, and timestamps.

If you change the meeting template, Bluedot will reorganize the meeting notes based on the selected template, but I will cover this a bit later.

Bluedot allows users to edit the meeting notes. You only need to double-click the text to change, add, or remove specific parts of the meeting notes.

As mentioned, Bluedot offers some pre-built meeting templates, but you can also create custom note templates for your meetings.

When creating your own meeting template, you can add custom prompts and questions to focus on the most crucial points for that specific use case.

Once you are ready with your custom templates, just go to your meeting notes and switch the template. Bluedot will restructure the meeting notes accordingly in a few seconds to reflect on the prompts and questions you added to that specific template.

AI chat

You can use the AI chat to ask questions about a specific call or cover topics across multiple meetings. It helps to find information quickly or summarize important details or discussion points with a few clicks.

During my Bluedot review, I experienced that the AI chat is quite fast and provides correct information with timestamps.

If you want to ask questions across multiple meetings, you can select up to 10 recordings at the same time. The AI chat will then analyze all of them together and pull the relevant information to answer your questions.

This gives you a more complete and accurate response, especially when the topic or decision was discussed across several meetings rather than just one.

Meeting Insights

During my Bluedot review, I was glad to see that it offers AI insights for your calls. It covers talk ratio, longest monologues, talking speed, and the number of questions asked.

Using Bluedot, you can record your screen and record yourself with your webcam at the same time. Your face shows up in a little camera bubble in the corner, like on Loom — a great feature for asynchronous collaboration. It’s also great that you can annotate and edit recordings.

It is a unique feature that other AI note-takers do not offer. So, if you need an AI note-taker that can record your screen as well, Bluedot is an ideal choice.

Team collaboration features

Bluedot has various collaboration features. You can organize your recordings into shared libraries where teammates can comment, edit, and work on meeting notes in one centralized space.

Furthermore, you can share your recordings with a few clicks via link or email. If you click on “Generate AI email”, Bluedot will craft a quite solid follow-up email based on the meeting notes and transcription.

Personally, I loved this feature when using Bluedot for my meetings. It helps to accelerate the follow-up actions after your calls and enhance productivity.

Using its Free plan, Bluedot lets you record and transcribe up to five meetings with a maximum of 1 hour per recording. You also have access to the Slack and Notion integrations.

If you buy the Basic plan for $14 per month with annual billing, it unlocks unlimited recordings and storage. If you need longer recordings and custom meeting templates, the Pro plan could be ideal for $20 per month per user.

If you need the HubSpot and Salesforce integration, you have to go with the Business plan. It is $32 monthly with annual billing and includes these integrations, plus unlimited import options.

Bluedot’s security

In the course of my Bluedot review, I also checked how it approaches data privacy. When taking a look at the safety policies, I found that Bluedot is GDPR and CCPA compliant, but the SOC2 certification is still pending.

The connections are encrypted using SSL, and any attempt to connect over HTTP is redirected to HTTPS. I was glad to see that all the customer data, including the recordings, transcriptions, and meeting notes, is encrypted at rest and in transit.
